Wrapping support around your child

At St Paul's College, your child's wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We take a whole-child approach, ensuring that every student is supported not only in their learning, but in their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development.

Allied Health Team Our on-site multidisciplinary allied health team works alongside teachers and Learning Support Officers to integrate therapeutic goals into everyday learning. The team includes:

  • 🗣️ Speech Therapist — Supporting communication, language development, and AAC device use
  • 🏃 Physiotherapist — Supporting physical development, mobility, and motor skills
  • 🖐️ Occupational Therapists — Supporting fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and daily living skills
  • 🧠 Psychologist — Supporting emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and social skills
  • 🩺 School Nurse — Supporting medical needs and health management

Learning Support Officers (LSOs) Every classroom at St Paul's has a full-time Learning Support Officer — in fact, each class is supported by two LSOs alongside the classroom teacher. This means your child always has access to immediate, individualised support throughout the school day.

Pastoral Care Pastoral Care at St Paul's College offers spiritual and emotional support to students and families of all cultures, faiths, and nationalities. Our Pastoral Carer walks alongside students and families along their journey — supporting the school community in times of challenge, as well as in triumphs and joys, always respecting confidentiality and privacy.

Pastoral care is embedded into many aspects of school life, including our vision and mission, teaching and learning, student activities, wellbeing services, behaviour management, and family engagement.

Wellbeing Programs Our approach to student wellbeing includes:

  • Respectful Relationships curriculum — Explicitly teaching personal and social capabilities
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Program
  • School-wide Positive Behaviour Framework
  • Team Teach trained staff — A framework to support positive behaviour and reduce unnecessary restrictive practices
All of us are unique, and this goes for the students at St Paul's. Once I'm in front of a class, what I've prepared, what I need to adapt — it keeps my mind active.
Evan Costello, Teacher (15 years at St Paul's)
